Will a PLaystation 3 work with my Old TV hooked up to the satalite Dish service? If so How do i set it up?

I poverty 2 acquire a PS3, and i hit a PS2 that worked dustlike on my older toshiba until i got satalite Dish, and Bfore that I had a Sega Genisis that worked fine, until i got Direct TV, today here i am in my newborn bag with Satalite Dish TV again and my PS2 dont work, but i poverty to acquire a PS3 and im afeard it tradition impact either. PLEASE HELP!!!
